Frequently Asked Questions

How do I add my audiobooks?

Open Raven, add your main audiobook folder, and each subfolder becomes a book automatically. Raven plays files already on your device — it does not download or stream content.

Which file formats are supported?

Raven plays the audio formats natively supported by Android, including M4B, MP3, M4A, OGG, OGA and OPUS. You can see the full list of platform-supported formats here. If a file that should work isn’t showing up, it is most likely corrupted or incompatible with your Android version.

Does Raven collect any data?

No. Raven has no analytics, no ads, and no trackers. Everything stays on your device. See the Privacy Policy.

Why isn’t feature X in the app?

Raven follows a principle of minimalism — it includes only the settings and controls that are genuinely useful, so the app stays simple and reliable.

How do I resume after the sleep timer stops?

When the sleep timer elapses, Raven pauses after a brief fade-out. To keep listening:

(On a few devices, shake detection may be less reliable.)

Is Raven free? Is it open source?

Yes to both. Raven is completely free, with no ads or subscriptions, and is open source under the GPLv3. The code is at https://github.com/Emerald-Realm/Vultr.

How can I report a bug or request a feature?

Open an issue on GitHub.
